Course Details
The aims of the CCAQ are to provide practical experience on simulated floor areas and gain a basic knowledge and understanding of the following:
- Nuclear safety
- SCW codification and assicoated content
- Surface preparation and associated inspection of Concrete and Steel surfaces
- Theory of coatings
- General application conditions
- Products used and associated inspections/ packaging
Objectives:
- To use information gained to competently prepare surfaces / materials and apply coating to concrete and steel surfaces within nuclear rooms (EPR) in accordance with the Specification for Coating Works (SCW)
- To have the ability to self-check and challenge non conformity
Course Contents:
Part 1: Aim of the CCAQ – basic knowledge of nuclear safety
Part 2: SCW Codification – Understanding this system as a QRA(Quality-Related Activity), what that means on HPC
Part 3: Cement based substrates – basic knowledge / surface preparation and associated Inspections – Understanding of the purpose of laminated systems and their benefits to HPC.
Part 4: Basic Knowledge of Coating – detail of the different coats, mesh application.
Part 5: General execution conditions – detail of the singular points and coatback methods.
Part 6: Products used and associated inspections – packaging.
Part 7: Application of coating systems
Entry Criteria:
Must have knowledge of coatings in the industrial sector. Minimum ICATS / SSPC Train the Painter qualification.
